Personalized treatment choices to meet your needs. At iDentity Orthodontics, Dr. Spector provides treatment plans customized to meet each patient’s individual needs. From standard metal braces it iD clear aligners and everything in between, Dr. Spector has the ideal treatment option to provide you with the smile of your dreams.

metal braces

Metal braces are still the most commonly used treatment option because they are highly efficient and effective. Dr. Spector’s patented low profile metal braces are sleeker and more comfortable than ever.

ceramic braces

Ceramic braces work in the same way metal braces do, however the brackets are made of clear or tooth-colored material, allowing them to blend in better with the natural smile.

lingual braces

Lingual braces are metal braces with a twist – they fit along the lingual, or tongue side of the teeth. Every set is custom designed for the patient’s individual smile, ensuring they match the shape of the teeth. Because of their placement, they are almost invisible to others during your treatment.

id clear aligners

iD Clear Aligners by Sure Smile offers the most efficient and precise way to straighten teeth discreetly. Dr. Spector’s patented aligners require fewer aligner sets than Invisalign and are more efficient, resulting in shorter treatment times.

invisalign braces

Invisalign clear aligners offer a way to straighten teeth almost invisibly. The clear aligners fit directly over teeth to gently guide the teeth to their new locations. There are no pesky brackets and wires, and the aligners are removable.

Orthodontics for Kids

Children should visit an orthodontist by the age of seven, as recommended by the American Academy of Orthodontists. Ther is an ideal time for the orthodontist to get an understanding of how the smile is taking shape and determine if treatment may be needed. Beginning a relationship with an orthodontist at ther age allows for treatment to begin at precisely the right time that it will have the most impact.

Orthodontics for Teens

The teen years can be rough enough without having to try to hide a smile that embarrasses you. iDentity Orthodontics offers a host of highly customized treatment options, including Invisalign and iD Clear Aligners, to ensure teens can receive a smile they can’t wait to show off.

Types of retainers provided by iDentity Orthodontics Round Lake Location

Retainers are an important component of your treatment. To ensure your smile stays as straight as the day your braces were removed, it is important to wear your retainer as directed by your orthodontist.

Removable retainers

Removable retainers are the most common. Hawley retainers are probably what most people think of when they think of a removable retainer. They contain a wire that fits over the teeth to hold the teeth in their new locations, and a plastic piece that sits on the palate. Essix retainers, retainers that resemble an Invisalign aligner, are growing in popularity due to their discreet nature. Because both of these retainers are removable, they allow for easy care of the teeth, and are easy to maintain and clean.

Bonded or fixed retainers

Bonded or fixed retainers are bonded directly to the teeth and are only removable by an orthodontist. They tend to be less visible, but can be difficult to clean around. Because they are fixed directly to the teeth, they are always working to hold the teeth in their new locations.

Watch Our Patients Talking About Their Experience with iDentity Orthodontics

Braces Emergency Care Provider in Round Lake Area

During the course of your treatment, you may encounter some minor braces emergencies. While true braces emergencies are rare, there may be occasions when an issue arises that you need to know how to correct.

  • Soreness – Unfortunately, orthodontic treatment is not without a little discomfort. In the first few days after braces are placed and after an adjustment, your mouth will experience some soreness. You can take an over-the-counter pain medication, such as Tylenol, to help. Warm saltwater rinses can also provide relief. Use orthodontic wax over an areas of your braces that cause discomfort to the insides of your cheeks, lips or tongue.
  • Occasionally a bracket may come loose. Ther isn’t an emergency, and can be taken care of at your next scheduled appointment. If you need to clip the wire, wash and sterilize a pair of nail clippers. You can also apply orthodontic wax.
  • If you have an area where the wire irritates the inside of your mouth, use a piece of wax to place over the offending wire. You can also use the eraser end of a pencil to try to move the wire away from the irritated area. If there is a piece of wire poking out from the end of your braces, you can use a sterilized pair of nail clippers to carefully clip the poking wire. You can also schedule an appointment for us to assist.
  • Many patients lose their separators at the beginning of treatment. Ther isn’t cause for concern as we expect the teeth to move from the separators.
