Can you get braces the same day as your consultation?
At the consultation portion of your visit, you will:
• Provide a complete medical and dental history
• Have digital X-rays and scans taken so we can see what is happening both above and below the surface of your mouth
• Have a physical examination performed by Dr. Stosich
• Discuss questions or concerns
What are same day braces and how do they work?
Some orthodontic practices offer same day braces. That means the same day you have your consultation, you can also have your braces placed. Stosich Consulting does not offer that because Dr. Stosich believes that treatment planning for every patient is extremely important. Moving the teeth is a scientific process that takes careful planning on the part of your orthodontist to ensure that you receive your best smile.
If, on the day of your consultation, you are ready to begin your treatment, we will take all the diagnostic records we need to plan your treatment. Then, you’ll return to our office about a week later to have your braces placed.
If you’ve chosen clear aligners as your treatment option, we’ll take your digital impressions after your consultation. These impressions will be used to create custom aligners designed specifically for your smile.
While many may think same day braces is a time saver, Dr. Stosich wants to be sure that his patients all receive the most exceptional care possible. And that means taking the time to precisely plan out every treatment plan to ensure the most ideal results.
Preparing for Same Day Braces, are you a candidate for Same-Day Braces?
Practices that say they provide same day braces need you to have taken a few steps before coming to your initial orthodontic consultation visit in order for you to be a good fit for their same day braces offering. Here are some of these steps that are mentioned by the practices that claim to provide same-day braces.
1- Your teeth should be in good shape, you shouldn’t need any general dentistry work, you should have done your cleaning just recently and shouldn’t have any buildup of plaques or gum diseases.
2- You should have all your insurance documents with you and have to have checked your coverage and decided about your payment
method. etc.
3- You should also have completed your complimentary consultation and exam with an orthodontist.
As you might have noticed, these steps require you to have been seen by an orthodontist before your visit to get braces, which makes same-day braces a false claim.
