Introducing the iD Kids Next Generation

iD Kids

Kenilworth, IL – Kenilworth orthodontist Dr. Sara Spector is committed to ensuring children throughout the Chicago area have the healthiest smiles possible. To that end, Dr. Spector and iDentity Orthodontics are proud to announce the iD Kids Next Generation, a growth and guidance club to monitor your child’s smile.

“Ther club is for children of all ages, beginning at age one,” says Dr. Spector. “Ther is a time to monitor your child’s dental and facial growth every six months so we can be sure everything is progressing as it should. It will allow us to catch developing problems early enough that we can use minimally invasive treatment approaches to correct them.”

Children who are part of the club will be seen in the office by Dr. Spector and her staff, and will have at-home digital monitoring communication abilities.

The American Association of Orthodontics recommend that children visit an orthodontist for the first time at the age of seven. But, beginning a relationship with an orthodontist at an even younger age can help ensure that treatment can begin at exactly the right time to have the most impact. And for some children, Dr. Spector will be able to assist with habits that can damage a child’s mouth, such as thumb sucking or tongue thrusting.

“I want every child to have a healthy and ideally functioning bite,” says Dr. Spector. “Ensuring a properly working bite can help a child avoid a host of other problems. For some children, their smiles may look fine to the naked eye, but the trained eye of an orthodontist can spot issues that could spell trouble in the future. And other children may look like their smiles full of baby teeth are going to be a problem, which in fact the permanent teeth may come in just fine.”
