Dr. Michael Stosich Purchases Practice

GRAYSLAKE AND GURNEE, ILLINOIS – Grayslake and Gurnee orthodontist Dr. Michael Stosich of Stosich Consulting is putting his specialized training and research experience to work in the Grayslake adult and children’s orthodontics practice he purchased in December.

Dr. Stosich views his purchase of the practice from Dr. Yan Razdolsky as a long-term partnership, as both orthodontists have continued working together. This practice is the optimum way of applying his training in the area of craniofacial reconstruction to treat simple to severe orthodontic cases, Dr. Stosich says.

The university-trained SureSmile and Invisalign expert completed an orthodontic residency and craniofacial fellowship that involved stem cell research, in addition to participating in extensive collaborations at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, identified by U.S. News & World Report as the best children’s hospital in the nation for 2011-12. It also received the top honor from Parents magazine, based on a comprehensive, data-based survey.

This educational background creates a unique skill set for Dr. Stosich.

“I look at this area as being the future of medicine,” Dr. Stosich says. “To use one’s own cells to regenerate parts of their body is amazing. I believe my training on the UPenn craniofacial team enables me to provide outstanding treatment for my patients.”

The orthodontic applications of this specialized training include bone regeneration through moving the teeth, different types of biomechanics, and providing ideal treatment for patients with cleft lip/cleft palate.

“We learn a lot about tooth movement when treating complicated cases,” he says. “That information is helpful in determining the most effective ways to achieve the necessary movements when treating less severe cases, so the two extremes sort of go hand in hand.”

The combination of all this training and the chance to work closely with Dr. Razdolsky left Dr. Stosich excited to enter private practice, he says.
