Braces Can Be Affordable for Everyone

Affordable braces cost

Orthodontic treatment isn’t just for cosmetic purposes – a straight smile is a healthy smile. But, orthodontic treatment is a big investment for most people. Dr. Michael Stosich of Stosich Consulting knows this, and works hard to ensure treatment is affordable for every patient he treats.

“A properly functioning, straight smile can transform a patient’s life,” says Dr. Stosich, who treats patients in the Chicago area. “Your smile has an impact on you throughout your day – how you eat, how you speak, and how you feel about yourself can all be wrapped up in your smile. At Stosich Consulting, we want to be sure you have the smile you deserve.”

Many people mistakenly think that braces are too expensive, and may want to avoid treatment. But foregoing needed orthodontic treatment can only make existing problems worsen, leading to more serious issues, and more serious costs, in the future. And, you may be surprised to realize braces can actually be affordable.

There are several options when it comes to paying for braces. The first is paying for the entirety of treatment upfront. Many people may not be able to afford this, but for those who can, most orthodontists will offer a discount for paying the entire cost at the beginning of treatment.

For those who have dental insurance, their plans can offer a significant break in the cost of braces, as well. While the amount you can save will be up to your individual plan, as well as the type of treatment you choose, you should read your policy carefully to determine exactly what is covered. Because figuring out insurance information can often be confusing, Stosich Consulting has a staff member available to assist you, and to ensure you get all of the benefits your plan details.

Dr. Stosich’s office also offers all major credit cards, and offers extended low payment plans of up to five years. For those who may still need additional assistance, there is a program called CareCredit. CareCredit is a personal line of credit that can be used for medical and dental purposes. CareCredit can be used for expenses not covered by insurance.

CareCredit offers short term financing options for 6, 12, 18 and 24 months with no interest, as well as longer term financing of up to 60 months with a reduced APR and fixed monthly payments.

“I know that seeing the cost for treatment can often seem like a deterrent for many people,” says Dr. Stosich. “But, my office works incredibly hard to ensure everyone who wants orthodontic treatment can receive it. And, surprisingly, braces are one of the few things that haven’t risen an exorbitant amount over time. In the 1960s, the cost of braces was $2,000. Adjusted for inflation, that would make braces $16,000 today – but luckily, the out of pocket cost of braces isn’t quite that high. The average cost of braces is between $3,000 and $5,000.”
